My passion for photography started at a young age and manifest itself through a fetish for picture frames. Traditional, contemporary, and everything in between; including a fuzzy purple frame with a stuffed pig that I got off a clearance aisle (image that!). I collected and filled them all with snap shots of my family and friends. I loved surrounding myself with the constant reminder of fun times and fun people.
I started photography as a hobby with photo classes in high school and throughout college when I got my BA in Design. But, it wasn’t until I had kids of my own that my hobby grew to something more. I had taken my two kids to a popular chain photography studio and was less than satisfied with the results. They were posed nice, and they were smiling, but the pictures didn’t capture their “looks”. They had successfully captured what my kids looked like, but not who they are.
That is what my photography is all about. Capturing those looks, those feelings, those moments that make you and your loved ones who they are. Whether it is a toddler’s pouty face. A high school senior beaming in her prom dress. A family chasing around the little one that never wants to sit still. Or the loving looks of a young couple starting their lives together. Everybody is unique, and your pictures should reflect this.
